Whilst long haul is incredibly exciting there are so many fantastic weekend breaks doable with just a short flight over to the continent. The barrier for many is the price of these long weekends away can often rival the amount of a 1 week break once flights, transfers and accommodation have been sorted.
I’m going to change that for you
This is the first post in a series of “weekender” trips, showing how you can escape for the weekend for a lot less then you think, whilst staying exclusively 5 star. “Weekender” trips are how I balance my 9-5 and my travel addiction. Being able to go away on a Friday night and back on a Sunday, but still getting a great sample of the destination.
We’re going to Warsaw
Yes, Poland. Warsaw is a fantastic destination, and what’s great is with the Polish currency remaining as the Zloty, you can benefit from a handsome exchange rate of roughly 5/1. Let me break down a sample 5* trip for you in March:
Next of all you’ll be wanting an airport transfer. Ryan Air fly from London Stansted to Modlin airport, located roughly 40 mins from the centre of Warsaw. You can use the Modlin Bus company which offer a fleet of brand new buses. The ticket will cost you around £3 for a return into the centre of Warsaw. The coaches also offer Wifi which is a great addition. Book your coach here, do so beforehand as with a reservation you’ll guarantee a space on the bus and you’ll save time on arrival. When you arrive in Warsaw City, grab a cab for no more than a couple of pounds to your 5* hotel!
So we’re in Warsaw, let’s stay 5*
We’ve spent £38.00 (inclusive of our return). Let’s get some world class accommodation.
Name: H15 Boutique Hotel Warsaw
Trip Adviser Rating: 5/5
Star Rating: *****
Price per Night: £50.67
The H15 Boutique Hotel is the top rated hotel in all of Warsaw. Rated number one on Trip Advisor, Hotels.com and Ebookers. Basically if you’re going to Warsaw this is where to stay. It’s of course 5* and for £56 a night a total bargain. However. I never believe in paying full price, even when it’s already discounted on a hotel’s website. If you book with Hotels.com you can use the discount: EMHJA1410 this will grant you a further 10% discount. So the total price for a 2night stay here comes to: £101, working out at £50.67 per person. Remember prices change on a day to day basis, so check out Trivago for a detailed comparison and you may be able to get cheaper. On a monthly basis I do a post with all hotel discount codes, so you can maximise your savings. Ebookers is my favourite for a deep discount, often with codes up to 20% off.
£89 the Magic Number..
And the grand total per person for a 5* European City weekend trip away for two, including flights, transfers and 5* accommodation is: £89
More to come in this series soon. Also i’ll be giving away some 1st Class Airport lounge passes soon, so make sure you like TrekTrendy on Facebook with a chance notch up the luxury on your future of travel one step further! If you have any feedback or questions, post below and I’ll be sure to get back to you.
